I’m writing this post under a fan in our dining room. It’s 34 degrees outside and I’m wearing shorts and a singlet top. It feels like it’s been hot every day since my son started school two weeks ago (except day 3 when it poured all morning!). AfterI pick him up from school and then his brother from preschool, we’re all hot, bothered and tired. I really do love summer but it’s about this time of year when I’m over the humidity and the thought of a cool Autumn breeze is very pleasant indeed.
So I am rather taken by all the autumn-winter fashion hitting the stores. I like the idea of wearing jeans and a long cardigan on a cold morning rather than selecting something that’s going to cause the least amount of sweat!
But I’m determined to only buy pieces I absolutely need for the colder months ahead. I’m staying focused and I’ve been doing a fairly detailed review of my wardrobe. Turns out I don’t need another bright pair of running tights! I need everyday casual clothes that will go with the rest of my wardrobe.
I need to invest in the basics! Items I can dress up or down and that will last a few seasons long. I’ve put together this moodboard which includes the sort of styles I’ve got my eye on. I already own a knit very similar to number 8 but I have included this one because I wore mine to death last winter and highly recommend it!!
