Happy New Year! Welcome to my first blogpost for 2016.
I took a little blogging break over Christmas and New Year. Three weeks of no blog posts, no Facebook and no Instagram. It was a very relaxed time which included Christmas (otherwise known as the Star Wars Toy Fest), new year spent in Melbourne with family then about 64 days of rain.
No really, there were five consecutive days of hard core rain in Sydney. Normally I would be all over social media in such circumstances but I held strong. Instead, I read cookbooks, organised photos, rearranged our toy storage system and made many a cup of tea in my new yellow kettle. Isn’t she a beauty:
We also attempted a few family bushwalks (not as disastrous as first thought when husband suggested it), watched the new Star Wars movie (loved it) and coloured in A LOT of Star Wars colouring in books. I spent some time brainstorming (also known as doodling in my new kikki k notepad) and planning for the blog which I’ll share more about later this week. For now, I thought I’d start the year off with a collection of lovely homewares to help inspire your time at home this summer.
1. Watagoes West Stretched Canvas Print from $129 by Temple and Webster; 2. Rattan style storage tub in teal $8 by Kmart; 3. Jute rug with black border $29 by Kmart; 4. Morphy Richards Accents Traditional Pyramid Kettle $119 by Myer; 5. Vue Nested 4 in 1 Photo Frame Oak Effect $20.97 by Myer.
6. Washed wood table lamp $20 by Kmart; 7. Paradise cushion $15 by Target; 8. Chloe & Lola Coastal Candle Ocean Breeze $17 by Myer; 9. Large curved nick-nack basket $15 by Target; 10. Triangle print cushion $15 by Target.
I highly recommend number 2 as great containers for storing toys. I now have a tub for octonauts, a tub for cars and a tub for spiky connector blocks (as opposed to smooth connector blocks). They also come in dark grey, white and yellow (very handy for matching with kettle).
Did you spend much time at home over the Christmas break? Did you reorganise your toy storage system too?
