Over Christmas and New Year I took a two week break from work and a three week break from blogging and social media. When I wasn’t colouring in, playing at the beach or auditing toys, I spent some time thinking about the year ahead.
This year our eldest little lord (LL1) starts school. Won’t life be easier when they start school I thought three years ago when I was going through the torturous toilet training days. Alas no, I don’t think life is going to be easier at all this year.
I’m being realistic in that my working days are going to be rather short due to the 3.05pm school pickup. I might look into after school care however I don’t want to rush into this until LL1 is settled in. I’m just going to have to work more in the evenings. Lord help me when Game of Thrones starts up again in April!! I could be set for some late nights.
I’ll still have LL2 at home with me two days a week which I’m really looking forward to. It’s only 12 months until he’ll be at school too so I’m going to savour the time with my baby boy. I’m not expecting a trip to the supermarket to become completely pleasant however I am looking forward to less sibling fights from 8.45am to 3.05pm at least!
Then there’s the homework, lunches, canteen duty, extra curricular activities and school holidays to factor in. So it’s highly likely this here blog might suffer from the impact of our new routine in the following ways:
- Timing – I normally blog twice a week unless work gets super busy, the little lords get sick or we’re on hols. I am aiming to maintain twice weekly posts wherever possible this year however there may be quite a few weeks where only one post (or less!) finds its way to published status.
- Topics – Practical fashion and style is my maingame and my true love however I am keen to expand the conversation to a few related themes like parenting, organisation, health, family travel, time management and lifestyle. Any other areas you’d like to hear about?
- Social media – See point 1 above. My posting, commenting and interaction may become affected by other “stuff” however I will get to it. It just might not be until next Tuesday
Hmmm what else? Not sure. I’ve probably disclaimered my actions (or lack thereof) enough.
If there’s anything you like, dislike or would like to see more of on Beachstylemum please let me know either in the comments, on social media or via email.
And finally please tell me – how’s your 2016 looking? Any new challenges to contend with this year?
