Last week my youngest son turned 4. So I’ve been in boy land for quite a while now. I don’t often get pangs of need for a daughter. I very much love life with two boys and enjoy my little girly fashion blog. However, every now and then I do get a moment of longing for a little girl in my life. And this broderie anglaise trend has definitely done it to me!!
The amount of gorgeous little dresses, tops, shorts and playsuits for girls made from broderie fabric is huge at the moment. It’s so cute, classic and girly. Seed and Country Road are covered in it!! Actually maybe it’s good thing I only have boys. The bank balance would be in serious trouble.
The great thing about this trend is that it can be worn by all ages. You just can’t go wrong with a little classic femininity. Make it the feature of your outfit or contrast it with some chambray or denim – there are so many great ways to wear broderie. Here are some of my recent outfits:
Wearing top by Shabby Sisters*, shorts by Jeanswest and slides by Country Road.
Wearing skirt by Rockmans*, top by Country Road and sandals by Betts Shoes.
