Last week we spent five days in Noosa. It was heaven – warm, relaxing, easy and fun. Our days pretty much consisted of: breakfast, beach, pool, lunch, quiet time, beach, pool, dinner and sometimes another quick dip in the pool if tiredness levels allowed.
Now that our boys are 5 and a half and almost 4, they didn’t need as much assistance from us in the pool and at the beach (compared to our last visit two years ago) so we actually got to sit back and relax for more than 16 seconds at a time.
It was also the easiest holiday I’ve ever packed for. The boys only needed 5 pairs of shorts, 5 T-shirts, PJs, boardies, rashvest, undies and one pair of shoes (we found crocs worked well for any occasion from beach to cafes).
It was also easy for my packing too. You may think the title of this post is rather obvious – you wear your swimmers of course!! But there are one or two other items I recommend for beach holidays where you know the weather will always be warm:
Shorts and singlet tops – Chuck them over swimmers, dress them up with a fun necklace at dinnertime, go for a walk around town. You can do it all in shorts.
Wearing Country Road top, shorts from Alicencooper, Ninewest slides and Marc Jacobs sunnies.
Kaftan/tunic – Once again, the versatility is key. Throw over swimmers or dress it up like I did for a sneaky afternoon cocktail session with a friend who happened to be in Noosa at the same time.
Wearing Zara tunic, Betty Basics slip, Ninewest slides and Colette Hayman earrings.
Beach dress – You could wear the same beach dress every day. Who cares when you’re on holidays. Or maybe pack a spare in case you spill something on it. Ain’t nobody got time for laundry on a beach holiday.
Wearing Ezibuy dress, Seafolly bikini and Ninewest slides.
Wearing Bird Keepers dress*, necklace from Hill & Dale Boutique in Melbourne and Ninewest slides. Beverage by Corona.
Slides – As you can see from all these pics, I wore the same shoes the whole time! Yep I took one pair of slides which I wore to the nearby cafe for breakfast and to the surf club for dinner. I did take my runners too and managed to go for one run (tick)
Swimmers – I definitely recommend more than one pair. In fact, I found three to be ideal. The pair that got wet at the beach in the morning could be left to dry for the afternoon while I wore pair number 2. Then when I felt a little bored with those two, I popped on pair number 3.
Wearing Sirens Lizzie swimsuit*. You can read more about this amazing swimsuit here.
So there you have it. After blogging for more than 18 months, I finally posted about actual beach style!!

Have you been on a beach holiday recently? What did you wear most?
