Today is all about summer flats following on from last week’s post on summer heels. I love a simple, comfortable flat for summer. Just a fairly basic sandal that will go with lots of outfits always works for me.
I definitely prefer open shoes in summer. Even Converse sneakers feel too hot for most of the summer months. And ballets flats can also get a bit sweaty. So today’s collection is mostly all open style shoes except for a couple of espadrilles which were too cute not to include!
There are some seriously affordable options out there these days (Rubi Shoes and Spurr Shoes for example) so if you do want to try a new style you can do it on a budget.
I might try this myself with some of those lace up, gladiator style flats…. I’m just not sure about that trend for me. Simple with minimal straps has always been my preference but never say never.
Metallics and coloured sandals are also great choices for summer. You can wear them with maxi dresses, shorts and kaftans to add extra interest to an outfit or to dress things up a bit.
5. Olinda tan leather $149.95 by Zensu Shoes; 6. Mackenzie lace up sandal $29.95 by Rubi Shoes; 7. Oakleigh in ivory multi leather $139.95 by Zensu Shoes; 8. Mia stripe espadrille $79.95 by Country Road.
The lovely team at Zensu Shoes recently sent me their Olinda sandals* (number 5 above). These tan leather flats are such a great casual shoe that you can wear everywhere from doing the groceries to dinner out with the family. The sole is cushioned and the straps don’t rub anywhere. I’m in love.
What style of flats do you like best for summer?
