Lately I’ve been making more of an effort to feel good on my mum duty days. These are the days I dress very casually and do things like grocery shopping, play dates, playground visits, sporting activities with the little lords, library visits etc etc. I used to put all my effort into my work outfits but I’ve realised it’s important to feel good on non-work days too. Sometimes these days are loooong and exhausting so all the more reason to choose an outfit to help me through it!!
This doesn’t mean I pull out the sparkles and heels (however there’s nothing wrong with sparkles at the park if that’s what make you feel good!). It just means I try to choose outfits that feel good and this often means they fit well, flatter in the right places and often include some sort of colour or point of interest to keep it fun.
Rockmans are a brand that totally get casualwear. Their new summer range includes flattering styles of dresses, shorts, skirts and pants, many of which come in gorgeous bright prints or include a feature / detail that draws your attention. I love the way their casual clothes are a little bit different and fun. Here are a few casual outfits I’ve worn recently which include some of the Rockmans summer range:
Wearing palm print pants* $49.99 by Rockmans, T-shirt by Country Road, shoes by Betts.
These are my new favourite printed pants. The print is so summery and I think I have a top to match every tone in the pattern! The thick waist band is really comfortable and the elasticated cuffs keeps them smooth and streamlined. You could even dress these up with heels for a dinner out on a summer night.
The pattern in this skirt is like a large broderie design. It’s really pretty and don’t let the whiteness put you off. The colour is more off white and the cotton/viscose fabric washes extremely well. I love the length and with the A-line style, you could easily wear this to a park or picnic and sit cross legged quite comfortably
Wearing mosaic print short* $29.99 (in store 9/11/15 similar here), top by Gap, slides by Spurr Shoes.
These printed shorts with cute pom pom edging are such an easy way to add colour and interest to an outfit. Just add a plain top and some sandals and you’re done! Again, there are quite a few colours in the print which you could match a top to.
Wearing ladder trim top* $39.99 by Rockmans, shorts by Gap and slides by Spurr Shoes.
This top is the perfect match to white denim. I was planning to wear it with white jeans but the day turned out to be much warmer than I expected so shorts it was! The fabric is very lightweight so kept me nice and cool and it doesn’t require ironing after washing – always a bonus. You could wear this top off the shoulder as the neckline has a thin elastic through it.
So if you’re looking to get your casual groove back, check out the summer range at Rockmans. So many gorgeous designs and the pricing is really affordable too.
Do reach for the same clothes each day? How do you keep casual days interesting?
