It’s the last month of winter. My winter clothes are not providing much excitement but I’ve got neither the brain space nor the budget to do much about it. Instead I’m looking towards spring and I’m planning my wishlist. I’ve got my eye on a lot of the new spring ranges hitting the shops at the moment and I am loving the bright citrusy yellow that I’m seeing. It’s a classically spring colour and looks fantastic with all the neutrals especially grey and navy. Not to mention chambray!!
I can already hear you thinking “but I can’t wear yellow!!” I wasn’t too sure whether my skin tone suited yellow either but there are so many shades to try, it’s worth giving it a go. The brighter shades tend to suit my cooler toned complexion. I wore this top on my Ponte Pants 3 Ways post a few weeks ago and I didn’t feel washed out even in my white winter skin!
If you’re not too sure about going the whole hog, yellow accessories are a delight to behold. Try a scarf, shoes, bag, sunglasses or jewellery. A beautiful yellow piece with a plain outfit will add instant style and interest.
So here are my favourite yellow / citrus picks at the moment:
1. Oversized shawl in yellow and grey $49.90 by St Frock; 2. Blondie leopard print ballet flats $30 by Fiebiger Shoes; 3. Morgan sunnie $14.95 by Cotton On; 4. Capture raglan linen top $39.99 by Ezibuy; 5. Yellow pratten clutch $29 by Blue Bungalow; 6. Heidi in yellow $27.98 by Walnut.
7. Summer blossom swing skirt $54.90 by St Frock; 8. Fine V neck knit $75 by Cue; 9. Capture trim jumper $49.99 by Ezibuy; 10. Breezy tank $129 by Gorman; 11. Amber rose filligree ball necklace $29.99 by Rockmans; 12. Bahama bag $99.95 by Louenhide.
What do you think of this colour for spring? How would you wear it?
