This year we are taking our boys to the snow for the first time. They’re only 3 and 5 but we’re going with all my family for my dad’s 70th so it should be a lovely festive time to learn to ski! We’re going to Charlotte Pass in the NSW snow fields and there will be lots of cousins to play with, grandparents to throw snow at and with the ski school out the front of our hotel, I’m hoping the level of stress will be minimal. For everyone.
The research and planning is in full swing. Aldi gear for the boys is sorted and husband has a range of quality gear from his pre-kid, work weekend trips so that leaves me. I did try the Aldi route but the width of the pants made me look like the marshmallow man from Ghostbusters. Not good. I ended up buying a jacket and pants from a European website which had major sales due to it being the end of their season. Shipping was a lot but it still worked out quite reasonably in the end. I’ll share my ski fashion in August – stay tuned.
And then there’s all the other bits and pieces to think about – gloves, socks, goggles etc etc! I’ve pulled together today’s moodboard to cover off all the items I think you need when you go to the snow (minus the actual skis or snowboard). Most of these are quite affordable however I wouldn’t say going to the snow is a bargain
