Are you looking for a super versatile style to wear this winter? Sick of your standard mum uniform? Looking for something other than jeans? And something you can dress up too? I think I have the answer for you and it’s realllly affordable. The CHAMBRAY DRESS!! I recently bought the Mix Apparel belted chambray dress for just $29 and I am majorly delighted with the array of options it goes with from my wardrobe! Let me show you my favourite 3 ways I’ve discovered so far…
1. Chambray with tan: I love this combo. This look is probably more suitable for a Queensland winter but it could work on a warmer day or during autumn and spring too. I added a white long sleeved T-shirt for that extra layer.
Wearing dress by Mix Apparel (Belted chambray dress – $29), long sleeved tee by Witchery, shoes by Zensu* (Gadsen tan waxy – $149), bag by Louenhide (Wendy in camel – currently on sale for $69.96), earrings by The Adorn Collective (Stevie earrings – $30).
Why does the sun have to shine a spotlight on my whitey white legs??!! Apologies for the blinding light
2. Chambray with Stripes: Another timeless combo that is perfect for easy casual outfits. Showing a little bit of cuff and collar brings it all together.
Wearing dress by Mix Apparel (Belted chambray dress – $29), sweater by Bonds (Besties stripe pullover – currently on sale for $26.97), tights by Seed Heritage, shoes by Zensu* (Musical white croc – currently on sale for $59.95) and earrings by The Adorn Collective (Stevie earrings – $30)
3. Chambray with a Cardigan: For the colder days, a long cardigan over the chambray dress works well. I’ve added jeggings for a double denim look (and lots of warmth) and have tried it with and without a belt.
Wearing dress by Mix Apparel (Belted chambray dress – $29), cardigan by Jeanswest (last season), jeggings by Country Road (Indigo mid rise jegging – $99.95), boots by Zensu* (Crimp flesh leather – currently on sale for $99.95), belt by Paul Dane and earrings by The Adorn Collective (Stevie earrings – $30).
This month I’m joining in with the Style It Project. The lovely Kimba from Kimba Likes selects an item each month and you can participate by styling it and sharing your pics over on Instagram with the hashtag #styleitproject. You don’t have to buy the item of the month (they are always super affordable though), you can use a similar one that you already own.
So what do you think about the chambray dress? How would you style it?
