It’s the word of the moment. It’s the trend of the season. It comes in many styles and forms. And it’s the only way to look like a stylish superhero. The CAPE.
There are so many gorgeous capes currently in the stores for the winter season however, today I thought I’d share how you can get wear out of your summer capes all year round. This is particularly useful during autumn and spring when the weather might not call for a heavy knitted cape. By layering a lighter weight cape or kimono over a longer sleeved top you can continue to get great wear out of this piece.
A few weeks ago, I went out for dinner with friends. It was a beautiful day which became a little cooler in the evening. Too chilly for a dress or skirt so I went for jeans and boots. I didn’t need a jacket but my outfit felt rather boring with just a plain long sleeved top so I popped my new Hyperparadise Cape by St Frock over the top and I was ready!
I added some bright earrings and I off I flew When I was walking from my car to the restaurant, the cape fluttered behind me in the light breeze. It was fun. It was different. And it took me about 10 minutes to get ready!
I’m wearing cape by St Frock, top by Ezibuy, jeggings by Country Road, boots by Betts Shoes and earrings by Colette Hayman.
There are still a lot of great lightweight capes available, many of which are now on sale. Here’s a few currently on offer:
1. Stacy scatter cape $22.04 by Dreams in Colour at The Iconic; 2. Aloha cape $84.95 by Elm at Birdnest; 3. Orchid print kimono $37.07 by Indikah at The Iconic; 4. Layla cape $49 by Vine Apparel; 5. Padang cape $69 by Dreamers and Drifters; 6. Boho daydreamer cape $59.95 by Dress Temple.
Is this a style you’d try? Do you like to wear capes all year round?
