I get a little bit excited when I discover I can wear an item of clothing for multiple seasons. As a mum looking to get maximum value out of my wardrobe, this is something I always consider when I’m buying clothes. Quite a few of my dresses, skirts and tops are on high rotation year round so when Philosophy Australia approached me to select two of their pieces and show their versatility, I was happy to take up the challenge.
Item 1: The Desert Tunic
I’ve talked up the benefits of the tunic dress before (you can read about it here). Basically, these beauties can be worn in summer or winter and can be dressy or casual. The desert tunic is a fantastic blend of viscose, nylon and elastane so it’s stretchy and comfy but still keeps a structured shape. I’m not a regular animal print wearer but this zebra print is a little bit different and the cute safari style would work well for the office or on the weekend. Here’s my take on a warmer weather option and a cooler weather outfit:
Wearing Desert Tunic by Philosophy Australia (RRP $139) / Belt from Paul Dane / Wedges from Wittner Shoes / Earrings and bracelet from Lovisa
Item 2: The Herla reversible skirt
Yes reversible! So you get a gorgeous printed side or a plain black option as well – two for one at its best. The fabric is a combination of polyester and spandex so is stretchy and smooth and hangs nicely. I’ve worn the waist quite high as I find it most comfortable that way but it could be worn lower for more length. Here are two outfits for opposite seasons:
Wearing Herla Skirt by Philosophy Australia (RRP $129) / T-shirt from Sussan / Shoes from Sandler at Myer
Wearing Herla Skirt by Philosophy Australia (RRP $129) / Jumper from Ezibuy / Boots from Betts Shoes / Scarf from markets
Both these items from Philosophy follow their “easy wear, easy care” mantra. They wash well, don’t require ironing and would also provide great options when travelling. They’re also designed and made in Australia. And yep I did just say they don’t require ironing
Do you look for year round versatility in your clothes? How do you get value from your wardrobe?
