Over the past five or six years I have accumulated quite a shell collection. It started from the hours spent at the beach when our boys were super young and they weren’t overly interested in the water. We’d pretty much just chase seagulls and collect shells. These days we don’t spend as much time shell gazing but I still keep a keen eye out for the perfect piece of pumice, shell or seaglass.
I’ve started adding shells to glass vases and other recepticles and I enjoy placing them in prominent locations around the living room, bathroom and bedroom. Husband is not so sure but “it’s part of the coastal theme” I tell him. We do live fairly close to the beach and we do have a fairly coastal inspired home but it’s certainly no beach cottage!! I would love to fully redecorate in a coastal theme but at this stage of our lives, we have to focus on toy storage, protected table corners and washable cushion covers
BUT I can dream. And I can plan. And I can share the coastal homeware love. It’s been a while since my last homewares moodboard so I thought the first week of autumn was a good time to compile a selection of coastal inspired items which would suit a coastal home year round.
