This year I’m looking forward to a Christmas Day that revolves around a 4.5 year old and a 3 year old. No more day sleeps or nappies to worry about and factor in, no more stressing about staircase accidents and no more packing separate food options in case they won’t eat ham or seafood at Christmas lunch. It feels very liberating to just focus on food preparation and making sure the kids have the best day ever. So to celebrate these new milestones in our family, I bought a new dress for Christmas Day.
I conducted a dress rehearsal on the weekend in order to share the outfit before Christmas Day because I fear the outfit photos might never get taken on the actual day! Who has time for selfies amongst the Santa excitement, fruit salad chopping and champagne sipping that is the craziness of Christmas Day?!! So here’s one I prepared earlier.
For anyone who hasn’t planned their Christmas Day outfit yet or hasn’t had the time to put their own needs at the top of the Christmas list, I highly recommend this $40 Target layered asymmetrical dress. It’s super comfy, lightweight and comes in a few colours. I decided to add the belt but it can be worn with a more flowy style. So easy to add some fun shoes and earrings and you’re set.
I had to add a better close-up of my earrings. I wore these to my wedding in 2006 and have decided they need more time in my ears and less time in the jewellery box.
Whatever your plans and whatever you wear, I hope you have a very fantastic day!! Merry Christmas xox
