Today is Monday. Last week I started Moodboard Mondays and I’m already behind. After one week! I promised myself I’d be totes organised and would have each week’s moodboard done over the weekend so on Monday mornings all I would have to do would be to click the pretty little “publish” button. It didn’t happen.
On the weekend I over-committed, over-ate and over-drank. The moodboard work got left in a heap along with two loads of dirty laundry. I woke up today not feeling very happy with my lack of commitment.
But then something marvellous happened. I drove the little lords to kindy and was on my way to work when I passed a crowded bus stop (I probably should have offered to carpool a few of the freezing souls but lets not get into my lack of sustainability commitment today!). Amongst the sea of grey and black coats, there stood a vision. A thirty something girl in a brightly patterned maxi skirt, boots and a denim jacket! She was the rose between the thorns, the diamond between the cubic zirconias, the macadamia amongst the almonds.
So today’s moodboard features an outfit rather than a suite of themed items like I normally do. It’s an outfit I’d love to wear in winter. It’s a little bit casual, a little bit colourful and a little bit boho. It’s my “girl at the bus stop outfit”.
1. Hinterland jacket in carolina blue $119.99 by Rusty at Surf Dive n Ski; 2. Multi hoop earring $12.95 by Witchery; 3. Jordan long sleeve cowl neck knit $20.99 by Jeanswest; 4. Pepita satchel in tan $129 by Bohemian Traders; 5. Boheme maxi skirt $149.95 by Tigerlily at Surf Dive n Ski; 6. Shatter loop soy scarf $49.95 by Vigorella at Birdsnest; 7. I dedicate this post to the stylish girl at the bus stop for providing some much needed winter inspiration – thank you. What do you think of this look? Have you found any inspiration from strangers or random sources lately?
