Last week I attended a fabulous French style brunch party to celebrate the start of the Tour de France (yes I have quite a few cycling obsessed friends). The wonderful host wore a delightful long sleeved black and white striped dress and when I asked where she bought such a great French chic item, she responded with……Coles. Yes the supermarket. I had seen some of the Mix Apparel items and had thought they looked pretty good on the racks but seeing it on her made me realise what great winter styling options they have!
So to celebrate Bastille Day today, my Monday Moodboard features the above mentioned Mix Apparel striped dress which you can pick up for just $15. I’ve added some other fun French inspired items to come up with an outfit which can be worn on a cold winter’s day when you’re feeling like a much needed jeans alternative!
1. Alta beanie $34.95 by All About Eve at Birdsnest; 2. Raspberry tassel scarf $29 by Blue Bungalow; 3. Betsey Johnson eiffel tower drop earrings $30 by Bon Ton via Shopstyle; 4. Amara floral waterfall cardigan $49.99 by Jeanswest; 5. Pattern legging $12 by Mix Apparel; 6. Mitered strip dress $15 by Mix Apparel; 7. Sammy boot $94.95 by Nine West; 8. Union square bag $124.95 by Elms & King at Birdsnest.
Next week I might have to theme my moodboard to the Glasgow commonwealth games….kilt style anyone?
P.S. Yes there was a croquembouche at the party created entirely by the host herself. Yes it was amazing – in both structure and taste. Here is a pic.
